How To Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Updated over a year ago

Two-factor authentication, also known as 2FA, is a pivotal component of contemporary digital security, ensuring your XBBIT account remains safeguarded against unauthorized access. Here's how to activate it:

  1. Preparation: First, ensure you have the Authenticator app installed. If it's not yet on your device, proceed to download it from your app store.

  2. Linking your XBBIT account: First, navigate to 'Settings' within your XBBIT app. As you scroll down, you'll come across 'Two-factor authentication'. To set it up, use the guide for Google Authenticator. But hey, if you're more of a different authenticator kind of person, simply follow the cues on the XBBIT app to snag your secret key or QR code.

  3. Dive into the Authenticator App: Once you've got it installed, open that app right up. From there, you can either scan the QR code or manually input the secret key provided by your XBBIT app.

  4. Retrieve Your Code: The Authenticator app will now generate a unique XBBIT code for you.

  5. Transition to XBBIT: Now, open your XBBIT application. Paste or enter the generated code into the designated space within the XBBIT app.

  6. Confirmation: Once entered, your 2FA should now be active. A confirmation will indicate successful setup.

Important Notes: Once activated, you'll need to provide this 2FA code during various secure interactions on XBBIT, such as logging in or conducting transactions. To do so, simply open your authenticator app, access your XBBIT code, and input it as required.

While Google Authenticator offers a feature to sync one-time passcodes across multiple devices, we advise exercising caution. Though convenient, this can present potential security challenges. Consider opting out of this feature or using the Authenticator without syncing to your primary Google account for enhanced security.
